Free webpage design
1. Who is this aimed at?
This offer is mainly aimed at translation, interpreting or philology students and teachers and at translators, interpreters, markers and language professionals who all act as voluntary translators in the translation and localisation project run by our partners, Mondo Services translation agency.
2. Who is offering this?
Van3 in collaboration with Mondo Services.
3. What is the agreement?
a) What you will receive: You will have a static webpage that can be made available in one, two or three languages and it will be ready for use in search engines. You will be able to choose the colours of the page as well as the browsing style, key words and much more.
In the event that you want to update your webpage, we can do this for you free of charge during the first year (maximum once a month). Thus, you will only have to send us the new contents. Of course, if you like, you can also update the contents yourself.
b) What you do not receive but you will need to do:
You will have to draw up and translate (in the event that you want a bilingual website) the texts that you want to appear on your webpage. The texts need to be finished before we start working on the website design.
You should also choose a domain and hosting (we can give you advice about this).
After the first year the updating of the webpage will not be free (updating of website contents prices). However, if you want, you can do it yourself.
c) Your obligations: You have to translate at least two projects as a volunteer for the Mondo Services translation and localisation project.
You should use the website and the texts should be finished before we start our work. We will put a link at the bottom of the page showing the creator of the webpage, something like “Website designed by x” or “Webpage design x”.
d) Additionally, we could offer you the following for a fee: In the event that you want to contract our services, we offer website optimisation, website design, website design for CMS (Contents Management System), logo and letterhead design and much more. You can find more information in our sections on website design, website promotion and graphic design.
4. What happens when you do not need the website?
When you stop using the website (i.e. when you are not online) for a long period of time you will lose the right to use our design. In principle, the website design is non-transferable and you may not sell it in any case.
The drawn up and translated texts that you can find on the webpage will always be your property.
5. Website hosting
Payment for the website hosting service is not included. You can contract the website hosting with us or with a preferred provider.
The domain will at all times be your property, therefore you will not encounter any problems and it will stay in your possession even if you are not using our website or hosting service.
6. How many sections can the website have?
Generally the website cannot have more than ten sections (per language). However, if you need an extra section, we can always make exceptions.
A professional translation webpage often has the following sections:
a) Home Page
b) Services
c) Professional Profile
d) Contact details
The additional sections are:
e) Detailed description of each of the services
f) Information about the company or freelancer
g) Conditions of contract
h) Tariffs
i) Links
j) Client and job references
You can, of course, join several sections into one.
7. For universities, associations and translation schools
In the event that universities, associations and translation schools decide to offer credits, points or other things to their students or associates for taking part in this translation and localisation project, Van3 will create a webpage with a contents management system (specifically Joomla!) worth 2500 euros. Go to the contents management system section for more information.
